This article appeared in the back pages of the February 1995 edition of GQ magazine. I remember it being a controversy in Troy, Alabama where I grew up, and something that people only spoke about in hushed tones. I’ve held onto my copy of the magazine for decades. I view it as an important piece of the history of Troy, Alabama, so I’ve scanned and am sharing it here, asserting Fair Use under the U.S. Copyright Act.
